Pre-wedding Photographer in Tokyo
A pre-wedding shoot in Tokyo starts at the red-brick Marunouchi face of Tokyo Station while the plaza is empty, best early on a Sunday, and ends at Odaiba at blue hour; many gardens and shrines refuse a gown or want written permission, so the photographer routes the day through places that say yes.

About Tokyo
Tokyo is not one backdrop but a dozen within a train ride. Shibuya's crossing and the alleys behind it give the city its cinematic face after dark, when the signs light faces better than any reflector. Nakameguro's canal runs quiet in the evening and turns into a tunnel of blossom for two weeks in spring, as does the Chidorigafuchi moat, where a rented rowboat puts the petals above and below the frame. Mornings belong to the older city: Asakusa and the approach to Senso-ji are empty before eight, Yanaka's lanes still feel like the pre-war town, and Shinjuku Gyoen's lawns open early enough for a session before the crowds. Autumn brings the gingko avenue at Meiji Jingu Gaien, a yellow corridor for about ten days in late November. Tokyo works year-round; the only planning that matters is choosing between the neon city and the quiet one, and knowing that the two are twenty minutes apart.

Top Photo Spots in Tokyo
The most photogenic locations for your Tokyo photoshoot
Senso-ji and Asakusa at dawn
Tokyo's oldest temple before the shops open — the Kaminarimon lantern, an empty Nakamise-dori and the five-storey pagoda in first light.
Best time: From sunrise until about eight, before the shops open
Book the earliest slot you can — by mid-morning the approach is shoulder to shoulder. If you rent a kimono, make sure the shop opens in time for your session.
Shibuya Crossing at night
The world's busiest crossing under a wall of screens — Tokyo in a single frame, best after dark when the neon takes over.
Best time: Blue hour and after dark, especially after rain
Plan several crossings rather than one, and leave the road as soon as the signal turns. Keep phones and bags close in the crowd.
Chidorigafuchi and the Imperial Palace moats
A moat lined with cherry trees beside the Imperial Palace — rowboats under the blossom in spring, quiet stone walls and green water the rest of the year.
Best time: Early morning; in blossom season, as early as you can
Blossom dates shift every year — follow the forecast rather than the calendar. Outside spring, the palace moats are quiet enough for an unhurried walk.
Tokyo Tower from Shiba Park
The red-and-white tower rising over a temple roof and park trees — Tokyo's retro landmark, at its best at dusk when it lights up.
Best time: The blue half-hour after sunset, when the tower lights up
Arrive before sunset to find your angle in daylight, then shoot as the tower comes on. Step back from the tower rather than closer — the park slopes give the cleanest frames.
Frequently asked questions
Can we shoot in a wedding dress at temples and shrines in Japan?
Sometimes — it depends on the place. Many temples, shrines and gardens ask for permission or a fee for professional or wedding-dress shoots, and some don't allow them at all; public streets and the area outside a temple's gate are usually simpler. Your photographer knows which places allow it and plans the route around that, and any fee a place charges for it is separate from the package price. Dresses, suits, hair and makeup are not part of the booking: bring your own outfit, and if you'd like a stylist, ask — some photographers work with local ones.
How much does a photoshoot in Tokyo cost?
Each photographer sets their own price for a photoshoot in Tokyo: every package on their profile shows an all-inclusive price, and nothing is added at checkout. Packages differ by how long the session runs and how many edited photos you receive, so compare a one-hour walk against a half day before you book.
When is the best time for a photoshoot in Tokyo?
Two windows dominate. Cherry blossom runs from the last week of March into the first days of April, and the Meguro river and Chidorigafuchi moat are the frames worth booking early for. Late November turns the gingko avenue at Meiji Jingu Gaien yellow for about ten days. Outside those, the city is a year-round shoot: mornings before eight for Asakusa and the old lanes, blue hour for Shibuya and Shinjuku, when the signs light faces better than any lamp.
